About Lil' Abstract
Daidyn Stewart "Aka." Lil' Abstract is a former NCAA DIII Athlete Turned "Action Painter" & Creative Entrepreneur Based in Los Angeles. His practice focuses on the ever increasing fusion of the physical world, tech, creativity coming from the mind, and its ultimate culmination in real life then adding a whole new dimension by bringing digital into the mix.
"I find it fascinating that in the Renaissance times they painted with brushes. Today in modern times I paint with brushes, but once I put those brushes down, and pick the tablet up the possibilities are endless. A completed traditional painting becomes so much more than that in a program like ProCreate and ArtFlow. You can pretty much turn anything you do physically into something completely different and that is a new stream of income. People Buy Art. You have to give the collector or customer your best. That's not to say you don't have to be good which in itself is subjective, however all art has some kind of structure to it that even someone not versed in the creative space can tell master work from an emerging artist. Just like you can tell the difference between a Scorsese film and a student shot piece."
Lil' Abstract tends to group art into two distinct categories "Competitive Art" i.e. Commercial Art & Art World Art whose creation is to make a profit and "Mental Health" Art art that is created to soothe the mind and the soul, or increase the viewers knowledge in some capacity about a specific subject namely themselves. These two can overlap but at the creators discretion. Abstract's Practice will definitely evolve with the Ebb and Flow of new Emerging Technologies, but will stay fundamentally rooted in the days of the Paintbrush.
